TRYING TO MAKE FLORIDA LOOK GOOD?

Texas seems to think that Florida needs some company. Laying its own claim to the nation's dunce-cap-for-intellectually-challenged states, Texas saw its state lawmakers on both sides make fools of themselves nationally. First, the democrats run to Oklahoma because they don't like a redistricting plan. Tactically, it worked. Redistricting is dead for the session. Politically this looks pretty bad for them, as voters don't tend to like AWOL representatives. Instead of capitalizing on the situation, the Texas republicans sought to define this a national security problem and called the Office of Homeland Security to help. This is one of those sad situations where neither side can score points by saying "what they did was worse" (even if they have a point.....) because it's a dubious advantage, at best, to be considered "not as bad as the other idiot".
