DISBAR WAYNE A. RITCHIE II, ESQ.
Who is he? He's a symbol for all that is wrong with American tort law, and the reason there's a need for tort reform. Republicans want a limit to damages and I'm not sure what Democrats want. Trial lawyers want nothing done.

Fine, if the trial lawyers want to be free from government meddling in the damages they can win, they should police themselves. They can start by disbarring Wayne A. Ritchie II, an attorney at Richie Fels & Dillard, PC in Knoxville, Tennessee. Why?

He drafted and filed a complaint suing Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, CBS, Viacom and MTV because Janet flashed a breast. I'm serious. Here's the complaint, alleging "injuries and damages" to viewers of the Super Bowl half-time show. He wants punitive damages and attorneys fees, of course. Be careful clicking that link, you may suffer further damages by viewing a picture of Janet's goofy shiny pastie.

Any chance the trial lawyers will police themselves and laugh this joker out of the profession? Do you think maybe anyone will ask John Edwards what he thinks about this guy's judgment to continue to practice law? Don't hold your breath. According to this guy's bio, he's on "the Board of Governors and Executive Committee of the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association." Imagine the people with real damages who are being kept out of court because of idiocy like this.
