DUMBED-DOWN POLITICS
Bush wrapped up the Republican nomination last night, while Kerry is closing in on his. Also, last night, political argument reached new heights of rhetorical eloquence as Kerry said "It must be getting lonely for George Bush. It seems he's the last person left in America who actually believes his failed policies will ever work." I have no doubt a similar inability to discuss actual issues forthrightly and honestly will elude both parties over the next few months. It's a shame, but expect demagoguery to be the order of the day.
