Democrat mayor of Toledo to US Marines: 'Go away, you frighten us'

TOLEDO, OH -- Mayor Carty Finkbeiner on Friday ordered some 200 members of Company A, 1st Battalion, 24th Marines from Grand Rapids, Michigan, out of Toledo just before the unit was suppose to start a weekend of urban warfare training downtown.

The mayor’s spokesperson Brian Schwartz said, “the mayor asked them to leave because they frighten people."

The Democrat mayor of Toledo, Carty Finkbeiner, is continuing the Democrat Party's assault on the United States Marine Corps. Finkbeiner's decision to oust the Marines from Toledo comes just weeks after the Democrat controlled City Council of Berkeley, CA decided to oust Marine recruiters from that city.

I have to wonder if has ever occurred to Mayor Finkbeiner that the training that the Marines were to receive in his city was designed to ensure that many more Marines came home safely to their families after their deployment in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Do I have the right to question Finkbeiner's patriotism and support for the troops yet? May I question the patriotism of the Berkeley City Council? Not only do I have the right to question their patriotism, I have the responsibility to do so.

Any city, state, university, or publicly funded entity that prevents the the United States military from doing it job should have its federal funding withheld.

If John McCain promises to do just that, then I'll consider voting for him.
